11 days Central Vietnam Birding Tour Ho Chi Minh

Day 1:  Ho Chi Minh City  > Da Nang City – Son Tra Penisular

Meet you at Ho Chi Minh Airport or hotel at Ho Chi Minh City in the morning then take a domestic flight to Da Nang, check in hotel then going to Son Tra peninsular for Red-shanked Douc Langur – One of the most beautiful primate in the world, and some birds around as Bee-eater, Sunbirds, one or two raptors and migrators sometimes. Da Nang is beautiful city with nice beach and good sea food.

Meals:  L / D.     Accommodation: Good hotel (3-stars ++) in Da Nang City

Day  2:    Da Nang > Mang Den

After breakfast, departure to Mang Den (6 hours driving), check in hotel. Birding  and photography around Mang Den in the afternoon for Black-hooded Laughingthrush, Blue-winged Siva (Minla), Blue-bearded Bee-eater, Velvet-fronted Nuthatch, Grey-crowned Tit, Chestnut-fronted Shrike-babbler.

Meals:  B / L / D.     Accommodation: Hoa Sim Hotel (standard hotel in cool place with fan and hot shower, free WIFI)

Day 3, 4, 5:   Mang Den

Three full days birding and photography at Pa Sy water fall, Mang Canh, Phong Lan, Mang Den sites for target birds as Chestnut-eared and Black-hooded Laughingthrush, Indochinese Wren Babbler, Blue Pitta, Ratchet-tailed Treepie, Coral-billed Scimitar Babbler, Brown Hornbill, Grey-headed Parrotbill, Rufous-faced Warbler, Speckle and White-browed Piculet, Rufous-backed and Black-headed Sibia, Red-vented and Golden-throated Barbet, 

Meals:  B / L / D.    Accommodation: Hoa Sim Hotel (standard hotel in cool place with fan and hot shower, free WIFI)

Day 6: Mang Den – Tu Mo Rong

Some final birding and photography at Mang Den before going to Tu Mo Rong (3 hours driving). Check in hotel. Birding in the afternoon for Black-crowned Barwing, Red-tailed Laughingthrush, Green-tailed Sunbird.

Meals:  B / L / D     Accommodation:  Guesthouse in Tu Mo Rong  Township (with fan, hot shower and free WIFI)

Day 7: Tu Mo Rong

A full day for target birds at birding site (25km from Guesthouse) for Golden-winged Laughingthrush, Red-tailed Laughinghtrush.

Meals:  B / L / D     Accommodation:  Guesthouse in Tu Mo Rong  Township (with fan, hot shower and free WIFI)

Day 8 :   Tu Mo Rong – Bach Ma

Check out after breakfast, going to birding site for some final birding at Tu Mo Rong before going to Bach Ma NP (5 hours driving). Check in hotel near the top of Bach Ma mountain. Birding at late afternoon for Silver Pheasant, White-gorgetted Flycatcher, Indochinese Green magpie, Black-throated Laughingthrush, 

Meals :  B / L     Accommodation:  Hotel at Bach Ma near the top of mountain (hot shower, no WIFI but can use 3G)

Day 9, 10: Bach Ma

Two full days birding and photography at Bach Ma mountain for target birds as Indochinese Wren Babbler, Indochinese Green Magpie, Silver Pheasant, Black-throated Luaghingthrush, Annam Partridge, Marsked Laughingthrush, Red-billed Liothrix, Chestnut-collared Yuhina, Grey-cheeked Warbler, Silver-breasted and Long-tailed Broadbill, Grey-chinned Minivet, Grey-crowned Tit.

Meal: B/ L/ D.     Accommodation: Same hotel as mentioned above

Day 11: Bach Ma – Da Nang – Ho Chi Minh airport

The last morning for photography at the base of Bach Ma Mountain for Annam Partridge, Marsked Laughingthrush before going down to Da Nang city, take a domestic flight to Ho Chi Minh airport for departure flight.
