Chestnut-eared Laughingthrush, Ratchet-tailed Treepie, Brown Hornbill, Coral-billed Scimitar Babbler, Black-hooded Laughingthrush, Blue Pitta, and Yellow-billed Nuthatch
The Kon Tum Plateau EBA is situated in the northern Central Highlands, and also includes a small area in central Laos. The natural vegetation of the EBA comprises montane evergreen forest. The Kon Tum Plateau EBA (Endemic birds area) supports nine restricted-range species, of which three are entirely confined to it: Black-crowned Barwing, Golden-winged Laughingthrush and Chestnut-eared Laughingthrush.
All three of these species were only discovered in the late 1990s, making the Kon Tum Plateau the most recently identified EBA in Asia.
Mang Den is small town locates in Kong Plong district, Kon Tum. The town itself is a mix pine-broadleaf forest, many birds can be encountered including Black-hooded Laughingthrus, Red-vented Barbet, Silver-breasted Broadbill, Silver Pheasant, Blue Pitta, Roufous-faced Warbler, Sultan Tit (black-crested race), Yellow-cheeked Tit and Grey-crowned Tit.
The Mang Canh forest is the best spot for Chestnut-eared Laughingthrus, Indochinese Wren Babbler, moreover Rusty-nape and Blue Pitta can be founded in some difficult ways, Brown Hornbill, White-winged Magpie, Rachet-tailed Treepie are along the main road.
