Route: Saigon – Cai Be – Vinh Long – Can Tho – Saigon

Day 1: Saigon- Cai Be – Vinh Long (Lunch, and dinner)

Vietnam Birding Tours guide and driver will pick you up at your hotel in Ho Chi Minh City, and leave for Cai Be by car/van with stop for photos in Tan An town overlooking the beautiful rice fields. On arrival in Cai Be, you will get on the motorized boat to visit the Cai Be floating market and learn the locals business happening on waterway among their vessels. Then wander into the villages to visit the orchard and fruit plantation.

You will then go on a boat ride to the island through small canals to experience the charms of the Upper Mekong Delta. Visit a family business to see how locals make coconut candy and crispy rice popcorn. Keep boating to the other island to visit the traditional house dating 18 century, and have lunch break with local fresh specialties. Afternoon, check into the home stay and have a break.

Afternoon You will cycle or walk around the island and experience local activities.

In the evening, if permit, you will go on the boat ride for fireflies watching along the canal, have dinner and chat with the host family to learn more about the local areas before staying overnight home stay on the island with peaceful night time sounds.

 Day 2: Cai Be – Can Tho (Breakfast, Lunch, and dinner)
After having breakfast at the home stay, you will go on a boat ride on The Mekong River to visit further local activities as well as the sunrise on the Mekong River and discover the local life on the morning in the area. Take a rowing boat into the canal and see experience local life along the waterways. Have lunch break and car ride to can Tho. Check into the hotel on arrival and free to walk in the afternoon around Ninh Kieu centre or market in can Tho. Have dinner and stay overnight in Can Tho.

Day 3: Can Tho – Saigon (Breakfast, Lunch)
After having breakfast at the hotel, you will take a boat cruise to visit Cai Rang and Phong Dien floating markets – the biggest in the region, and have the boat ride into the small waterways to learn more about local life in the area. We will have the boat ride returning to the pier at 11 am and back to our hotel for refreshment before taking our car returning Saigon and transfer to the airport for your departure.
